Programs and Services

To accomplish the objectives, set out by the organization, a selection of programs and services will be made available. At present, the organization has directed its attention towards Hawaii and Peru as the primary locations of focus for these endeavors.

Education

Valley Global provides education for Hawaii’s youth and students. The programs provide knowledge and skill sets that empower local students to address local and global challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity and poverty.

The programs will be structured to accomplish several of the sustainable development goals outlined by the United Nations, as well as support the sustainability ethic and local food production priorities listed in Hawaii’s 2050 Sustainability Plan.

Valley Global will also partner with organizations to help support and provide volunteers and resources when these events occur.

Support Valley Global

Classes will

Encourage economic sustainability.  | Promote environmental protection. | Promote social equity.

The organization is currently seeking funding to secure leased space in Hawaii which will be named the Valley Global Center. At this location, students and visitors will gain firsthand experience in sustainable farming practices that will help keep Hawaii free of pollutants and invasive species and will provide guided tours that teach about the local ecosystem and how to preserve it.

Local food banks will receive donations of fresh produce grown on the farm to distribute to families in need. This will tie together the mission of education and support by teaching locals how to farm and feed their families.

Relief Services

Valley Global will provide aid for communities in need. The aid will be in the form of shelter, food, clothing and medical supplies. These items become vital to areas where there might have been an earthquake, hurricane, fire, flood, pandemic, job loss or poverty.

Phase One Programs

The first phase of the Valley Global Organization will be in the State of Hawaii. This will allow for the opportunity to solicit and train volunteers and gain exposure and results from programs .

After-School Programs – Valley Global will have trained volunteers that share the passion and concern of the organization to provide after-school programs to be held in local school classrooms and youth club centers. Topics included will be environmental issues, changing weather patterns, beach erosion, pollution, and food security. Future employment opportunities will also be highlighted. Programs will address local and global issues such as climate change, environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity, and poverty.

Weekend Community Projects – Monthly beach clean-ups, and dump site clean-ups will be scheduled and coordinated. Both children and adults will be encouraged to attend and participate depending on the appropriateness of the event. Organic gardening projects will be initiated and maintained. These projects will inspire our children and community to want to provide for our future.

Tours – Eco-friendly small groups of children and adults will visit organic farms, ocean sites, and lava fields to understand the uniqueness of the land they live in and how to make the best use of it.

Relief Services – Valley Global will be ready to assist the local community when there is the next need. This will be through volunteering services, providing medical supplies, water, and shelter if needed.

Phase Two Programs

Valley Global Education Center in Hawaii. This building will allow for housing for staff, office space, and classrooms and allow for a small organic garden on the property. At our center, students will gain first-hand experience in sustainable farming practices that will help keep Hawaii free of pollutants and invasive species.

Expansion to Peru.

Relief Services will be available to support the local community in Peru as well as Hawaii.

The Valley Global Education Center will serve youth aged 16-24 who only have a lower secondary education (equivalent to middle school in the United States). Our classes will be free but prospective students must submit an application to be considered for enrollment. Applications will be completed online or in person for students who do not have Internet access. A designated committee will review applications to select students who will most benefit from our program.

The school year will be from March – December and classes will be held Monday through Friday 8 am – 2 pm.

Phase Three Programs

Valley Global will be establishing other locations globally for programs and education centers once the necessary interns have been identified and trained and resources have been made available. All future locations will be approved by the Board of Directors and will meet the goals and mission of Valley Global. This will include program education services as well as relief services.
